United Methodist Women to Meet March 13

Join other United Methodist women at 10 am in the parlor March 13.  Joanne Flagel will lead us in discussing the various ways in which we are already acting for social justice. We will also explore being in connection with others who are acting out that part of our faith journey.

UMW is starting a Reading Program.  Each year the Women's Division sends out a list of recommended reading on a diverse range of topics to help broaden exposure to a variety of concepts.  We will take a look at these books and see if any of them appeal to us.  You may also bring ideas of your own.  On Monday, March 17th at 7:00 p.m., we will have an informational meeting to help us get started.  Bring your book ideas and dates that work for discussing the books.  If there is enough interest, we may start a daytime group as well as an evening group.  If you have questions or suggestions, or are unable to attend the meeting, but are interested in the group, please contact Kathy Porter @ 425-254-0620.

FAIRWOOD UMW RECEIVES AWARD!  At the 98th Annual Dinner for Atlantic Street Center, the Fairwood UMW received an award of recognition for all we have done for the center. We have had several of our members serve on the board and many of us give of our time, talents, and monies. Look for the award on the UMW bulletin board!

Save the Date!  United Methodist Women's Retreat is January 23rd-24th for 2009!  We had a great turnout this year, and the UMW Board would like to thank Jules Tieman for organizing the music, Willa Link for being our Registrar, and Jenni Yager for organizing the craft/mission project.  Hope to see everyone again next year!
