Discussions on Books

The United Methodist Women sponsored Book Club is open to anyone in the church and their friends who are interested in discussing books that the group chooses to read each month. We typically meet the third Thursday of the month September – June at 7pm in the Jr High room. We will not be meeting again until September 17th, but we do have books picked out for September and October. If you would like to join us sometime, or would just like to be on the email list, just in case, please let Kathy Porter know by emailing her at bkporter@comcast.net, or calling her at 425-254-0620.

September 17th's book is "The Faith Club" by Ranya Idliby, Suzanne Oliver and Pricilla Warner. It is non-fiction. It is a memoir of spiritual reflections in three voices.  The authors, a Muslim, a Christian and a Jew, wrestle with the issues of anti-Semitism, prejudice against Muslims, and preconceptions of Christians.

October 15th's book is "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova. It is a novel about a 50-year old woman's sudden descent into early onset Alzheimer's disease.

We hope you all enjoy these two books, and can join us at one or both of the discussions.
