RENTON CROP HUNGER WALK

Thank you so much for all your fantastic participation in the CROPWALK.  We had predicted (then hoped and prayed) we would come in with about $25,000 and we did it!  The final count is $25,052.89 with $1,200 coming from on-line donations.  Lynn, from Church World Service, said that because of the economy, CROPWALKS were averaging about 25% less this year.  That was about what we were.  (Last year we came in with over $34,000.)

CWS HOTLINE

Church World Service continues to help meet the food, shelter and medical care needs of displaced families in Pakistan, who have fled areas of fighting between the Taliban and the Pakistani military. This past week, CWS and local partners distributed 1,514 food packages to displaced persons. The packages contain nine items including cooking oil, wheat flour and beans, sufficient for an average-sized family of five people for 30 days.
